ROUNDS (“we”, “us”, the “app”) is a golf companion app: GPS distances, live scorekeeping and shot tracking, tee-time booking, food & drink and pro-shop ordering, and a social network for golfers (friends, groups, messages, tournaments, and leagues). Information we collect
- Account information — when you create an account we collect your name and email address (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase). You can use much of the app without an account; sign-in unlocks cloud sync, social, live games, and booking.
- Location — with your permission, we use your device’s GPS only while you are using the app to show distances to the green, record where your shots land, show courses near you, and find tee times near you. We do not track your location in the background.
- Gameplay data — scores, putts, rounds, shot coordinates, club selections, and your computed handicap.
- Social data — golfers you follow and friend, direct messages you send, groups you join, activity you post, and tournament/league participation.
- Food, drink & pro-shop orders — items you order and, so staff can hand you the order, the name on your account is shown to the course’s staff for that order.
- Photos — if you choose to, you can pick a photo from your library for your profile; course managers can add menu and pro-shop photos.
- Booking & payment data — when you book a tee time or pay for an order, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number; we keep a booking/order record and Stripe’s payment reference.
- Microphone — only if you use walkie-talkie voice in a live game; audio clips are sent to the players in that game.
We do not collect alcohol-related data or government IDs in this version of the app.
How we use information
To provide and improve the app: show distances and course maps, keep your scorecard and stats, sync your data across your devices, power the social feed, friends, groups and messages, run tournaments and leagues, complete tee-time bookings and food/pro-shop orders, and deliver those orders to you at the course.
How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that operate the app on our behalf, and with a course’s own staff where the feature requires it:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and hosting.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Expo — app builds and over-the-air updates.
- Course staff — for an order you place, the course sees the order and the name on your account so they can prepare and hand it to you.
- Other golfers — content you choose to share (posts, group messages, scores in a shared game) is visible to the people you share it with. Other players see your scores, not your live GPS location.
We may disclose information if required by law.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing levi.s.shell@gmail.com; we will delete it within 30 days.
Security
We use industry-standard measures, including row-level security on our database and encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Location details
Location is used only while the app is in use (foreground). We never access your location in the background, and you can revoke the permission at any time in your device settings — the app still works, without distances or nearby search.
Children
ROUNDS is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
